All e-mail addresses and other personal details are treated as confidential and never shared with any third party. I never see your credit card details at all.

The programs offered for download make no use of data collection and  are spyware and ad free,

Sometimes I need to see music, artwork or other files saved from the programs in order to fix a bug and this also is treated as confidential. Any support emails, phone calls etc are also treated as confidential.

I use the details you give me only for the purpose for which you provide them. All the information I have relating to you is available on request (after verification of identity).

Details

Credit cards

I never see your credit card numbers for purchases as these are processed securely by my agents who process the orders - depending on where you buy them this may be PayPal, FastSpring, RegNow, Plimus or eSellerate.

Other purchase details

The other details collected during the purchase process include the billing address, and e-mail address the purchaser - and the amount paid for the software - these details are sent to me by my agents for my records.

These details are not used unless you ask to be notified or contact me about them e.g. in case of an issue with the order process. I do not share this information with any other party. My agents all have their own privacy policies which are similar to this.

Support e-mails

I also archive support e-mails sent to me by users of my programs (and my replies to them). These are only used to assist with my replies to any later correspondence from the same user.

Aggregate visitors information

I also collect aggregate information about visitors to my web sites - for instance about which pages on the web site are most visited, and which urls and search terms visitors use to reach the site. I most often use Google Analytics and weblog analyser programs such as awstats. This is done solely to identify issues with the web content (broken links or confusing navigation), and improve the content of the web site.

Persistent cookies

I use cookies to record session information. These cookies are generated by your browser, and remain on your computer. They ensure that items on the web site can persist for you - for instance that if you add something to a shopping cart, then return to the site later you will find that it is still in your cart - this is the way such things are normally done.

I also use them for analytics, e.g. to help improve the navigation of the web site. I also occasionally use them to track conversions for ads for Bounce Metronome, to see if it it is worthwhile paying for the ads.

I also use cookies for affiliate tracking so that if you come to this site via a link from a software download site, the affiliate can be automatically credited for the sale. Again this is a normal and benign use of cookies.

For more details see the separate Cookies page.

Any e-mail ists are Opt in

The e-mail lists are all Opt in. You will only receive any newsletters or announcements if you have opted to receive them. If you have joined an e-mail list and wish to be removed, just reply to the e-mail and say you want to be removed from the list, or contact me at the above address.

If you supply me with your postal address, telephone number, e-mail address or other details on-line you will only receive the information for which you provided me your details.

No ad servers are used

I do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.

(This is mainly to do with ads served on the website - I don't have any ads here so it doesn't apply to me).

Software offered for download is spyware and ad free

The programs offered for download have no spyware included and make no use of data gathering. They do not serve up ads.

The programs make no connection with the internet except on request by the user - e.g. when the user checks for updates, or goes to visit the website via a url in the help or other clearly marked link.

Check for updates

If you switch on the check for updates then the program will check for existence of a text file on my website with information about updates, and will display the contents of that file if newer than the current version.

These checks would appear in my server logs, as requests from particular ip addresses.

However I don't use this information and in normal circumstances will not look at it. I will not share this information with others under any circumstances.

The user has to switch this option on. It is off by default.

Bug reports "support projects"

User who submit a bug report will be asked to send a "support project".

This is optional but greatly assists me in debugging.

The support project contains information that helps me to set up Bounce Metronome on my computer exactly as it is set up on yours. It contains detailed information about all your current settings for Bounce at the time that you make the project.

This project contains some information about your computer, of use for debugging. The main thing it contains is information about the list of midi devices visible in the program.

It also has "user specific" information about your Bounce Metronome setup, such as. whether you have your copy of Bounce Metronome set up to work with CSound.

Also, it includes a recently visted file history which gives a list of the recent files opened and saved by Bounce Metronome. This will as a result show local folder names on your system.

This information will only be used for debugging and not shared with anyone.

Original work sent to me for bug reports or user support

Any original work sent to me for bug reports or user support is treated as confidential, and will not be shared with others, unless explicitly given permission to do so by the author.

Support e-mails for the software

As with support emails for the website, I also archive support e-mails sent to me by users of my programs (and my replies to them). These are treated as confidential, and only used to assist with my replies to any later correspondence from the same user.

You can see all information I have relating to you on request

Upon request (and on verification of their identity) I will provide site visitors with access to all information that I maintain about them. This includes those contact details mentioned above provided by my agents on purchase of the software - and my archive of any e-mails that the visitor has sent to me.
